Rural & Urban Grant Programs
Applications Accepted Through

For
Charleston County
Urban and Rural Greenbelt Projects
The
Charleston County Comprehensive Greenbelt Plan
contains an Urban and Rural Grants Program to distribute
the Greenbelt portion of the Transportation “Half-Cent”
Sales Tax proceeds. The purpose of these grants is to
implement the County’s Greenbelt Plan for the
conservation of greenspace in Charleston County.
Greenbelt
project applications for the
Rural Program
may be submitted through 5:00 pm on Monday, August 31,
2009. Completed
applications with required attachments
shall be mailed or hand delivered to:

Any applications received
after 5:00 pm August 31, 2009 will not be considered for
this round of funding. Post marks will not be
considered.
Anyone applying to either
the Urban or Rural Program
must schedule a
pre-application meeting with staff. This
meeting will involve the applicant providing an overview
of the proposed project followed with technical
assistance by staff. Pre-application meetings will be
scheduled by contacting Cathy L. Ruff at 202-7204.

Rural Grant Program
The Rural Grants Program will be administered by the
Charleston County Greenbelt Bank Board who will
review applications and make funding recommendations
to County Council.

Urban Grant Program
The Urban Grants Program will be administered by the
Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (PRC)
who will review applications and make funding
recommendations to County Council.

Program.
