Citizens Invited to Comment on Major Drainage Project Funded
by Half-Cent Sales Tax
Public meeting on Isaac German Watershed
improvements, Sept. 21 from 6-8 p.m.
Charleston
County RoadWise is continuing its commitment to gather
public input on projects funded by the Transportation
"Half-Cent" Sales Tax.
The public
is invited to comment on proposed Isaac German Watershed
improvements in Mt. Pleasant during a public meeting on
Thursday, Sept. 21 from 6-8 p.m. in the Laing Middle School
cafeteria, 2213 N. Highway 17 in Mt. Pleasant.
The
meeting is designed to present residents with several Isaac
German Watershed improvement proposals and to receive their
input.
The Isaac
German Watershed improvements project is one among a number
of drainage projects that Charleston County plans to
undertake in the coming years as part of the Transportation
("Half-Cent") Sales Tax program.
The Isaac
German Watershed improvements project covers an area of
approximately 45 acres in Mt. Pleasant that is bounded by
Rifle Range Road, Porchers Bluff Road, US Highway 17 and Six
Mile Road.
Drainage
projects, as well as transportation-related projects such as
roadways and highways, are being funded through the
Transportation "Half-Cent" Sales Tax program. Charleston
County voters approved the tax in a 2004 referendum.
Charleston
County RoadWise is the program name adopted by Charleston
County for the management of all aspects of pre-construction
and construction of transportation and drainage projects as
identified by the Transportation "Half-Cent" Sales Tax.

official Charleston County Transportation "Half-Cent" Sales
Tax Web site

projects.
