Greenbelt
Bank Board Meets at 9 a.m. on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7
The
Charleston County Greenbelt Bank Board will hold meetings at 9 a.m. on
Thursday, Nov. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 7. The meetings are open to the
public, and will be held in County Council's Committee room (B225) on the
second floor of the Lonnie Hamilton, III Public Services Building (4045
Bridge View Drive, off Leeds Avenue in North Charleston).
On Nov. 30,
the Greenbelt Bank Board will hear a presentation on the Comprehensive
Greenbelt Plan. The presentation will be given by Chuck Flink of Greenways
Incorporated, the County's consultant hired to develop the Greenbelt Plan.
Also on the
Nov. 30 agenda will be the election of officers and the adoption of the
board's rules and procedures. At the Greenbelt Bank Board's initial meeting
held earlier this month, former Greenbelt Advisory Board member, Edwin
Cooper, was elected as Interim Chair.
The County's
Comprehensive Greenbelt Plan assigns the Greenbelt Bank Board with the
responsibility of administering the Greenbelt Project's Rural Grants
Program. The Greenbelt Plan was developed to provide guidance on how Council
should spend the greenbelt portion of the Transportation "Half-Cent" Sales
Tax.
