Charleston County RoadWise Conducts Job Training for Computer Aided Design Positions

            Job fair to be held at the Trident One-Stop Career Center on Tuesday, Jan. 23

Engineering and Design firms under contract with Charleston County RoadWise are seeking to fill a number of Computer Aided Design (CAD) On-The-Job Training positions. Selected individuals will receive a salary and training at no cost, while learning about the occupational area of CAD. Some previous exposure to CAD operation, which may include a single attended training course or limited work experience, is desired, but is not necessary.

Those interested in applying for this free training opportunity should attend one of three scheduled orientations on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the Trident One-Stop Career Center located at 1930 Hanahan Road in North Charleston. The orientation times are 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

RoadWise is the program name adopted for the highways and drainage component funded by the Transportation ("Half-Cent") Sales Tax proceeds. Charleston County's Transportation Sales Tax was approved by voters in November of 2004. Collection of the tax began in May of 2005 and will continue for 25 years or until $1.303 billion is generated for transportation and greenspace related projects and improvements.
