More Lane Closures on Johnnie Dodds
Blvd. Due to Second Phase of Road Work
Lane closures will occur from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8 – Friday, April 11
Charleston County RoadWise advises the
public of continued road work that will
require more temporary lane closures
along Johnnie Dodds Boulevard in Mt.
Pleasant from 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 8 through Friday, April
11.
The roads that will be affected by the
temporary lane closures are Johnnie
Dodds Boulevard and its frontage roads
and side streets between the Arthur
Ravenel, Jr. Bridge and the I-526 (Mark
Clark Expressway)/Chuck Dawley Boulevard
interchange.
Only one lane will be closed at a time,
and at no point will the entire roadway
be blocked.
The road work will consist of the second
phase of testing that is needed before
project designs can be made to widen
Johnnie Dodds Boulevard and make
intersection improvements. The project
is funded by the Transportation
Half-Cent Sales Tax.
The single-lane closures will be
continuous, moving from one portion of
the road to the next as the work
progresses so that the entire area won’t
be closed at any time during the
testing. The testing will occur in
100-foot increments and last
approximately 20 minutes per location.
During the testing, trucks with lighted
flashing arrow signs will be on site to
warn drivers of the approaching lane
closures.
