Greenbelt Advisory
Board Meets Tuesday, April 7 at 3 p.m.
Charleston County’s
Greenbelt Advisory Board (GAB) for the
Transportation Half-Cent Sales Tax will meet at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7.
The meeting is open to the public, and will be held in County Council’s
Committee Room on the second floor of the Lonnie Hamilton III, Public Service
Building (4045 Bridge View Drive off Leeds Avenue in North Charleston).
The GAB will be
reviewing the 2008 Urban Greenbelt Program Annual report as well as electing new
officers.
The GAB was established by
Charleston County Council to make recommendations on Transportation Sales
Tax expenditures for greenbelt projects. The initial role of the GAB was to
prepare and deliver recommendations and comments on the
Comprehensive Greenbelt Plan, which was adopted by Charleston County Council
on June 6, 2006.
The GAB will continue to receive public input while
advocating the implementation of the
Comprehensive Greenbelt Plan. Additionally, the GAB will evaluate the
implementation of both the
Rural Grants Program and the
Urban Grants Program.
The GAB consists of 14 members selected by Charleston County
Council and the elected councils of each of the three major municipalities in
Charleston County (city of Charleston, town of Mount Pleasant and city of North
Charleston).
