Urban Grants Review Committee Meets Tuesday, May 5 at 3 p.m.
Charleston County’s
Greenbelt Urban Grants Review Committee for the
Transportation Sales Tax will meet at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5. The meeting
is open to the public, and will be held at the Charleston County Park and
Recreation Commission Headquarters (861 Riverland Drive, next to the James
Island County Park).
The
Charleston County Comprehensive Greenbelt Plan established the Urban Grant
Review Committee to assist the
Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission in evaluating applications
submitted to the Urban Grants Program. The Urban Grant Review Committee
comprises two Greenbelt Advisory Board members, two Charleston County Park and
Recreation Commission staff and two Charleston County staff.
At the May
5 meeting, the committee will review urban applications received during the
March 31 funding cycle and will make recommendations to Charleston County Park
and Recreation Commission.

Bank Board Meets Thursday, May 7 at 9 a.m.
Charleston County’s
Greenbelt Bank Board for the
Transportation Sales Tax will meet at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 7.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held in
County Council’s Committee Room on the second floor of the Lonnie Hamilton, III
Public Service Building (4045 Bridge View Drive off Leeds Avenue in North
Charleston).
The
Greenbelt Bank Board was established by
Charleston County Council to address the loss of greenspace and promote
balanced growth throughout the county. The Greenbelt Bank will administer the
greenbelt project’s
Rural Grants Program as outlined in the
Charleston County Comprehensive Greenbelt Plan. The Greenbelt Bank Board
comprises nine members appointed by Charleston County Council.
At the May 7 meeting, the board will review rural
applications received during the March 31 funding cycle and make recommendations
to Charleston County Council.
