The Transportation (Half Cent)
Sales Tax will be used for:
...and other
transportation-related projects facilities including, but
not limited to, drainage facilities relating to the highways, roads,
streets, bridges, and other transportation-related projects
facilities.
- Cooper River Bridge ($75
million)
- Right-of-way acquisition
for Johnnie Dodds Boulevard
widening from Cooper River Bridge to I-526 ($25 million)
- Glenn McConnell Parkway -
Bees Ferry Intersection ($7 million)
- James Island
road improvements ($10 million)
- An access ramp from
Savannah Highway onto Highway 61 Connector ($6 million)
- A new road connecting
Ashley Phosphate Road and the Palmetto Parkway ($29 million)
Other projects and funds
allocation will be reviewed and recommended to County
Council by the
Transportation Advisory Board and
the Park and Recreation Commission (PRC).
The Greenbelt Advisory Board
will prepare and deliver annual recommendations to the PRC,
and deliver findings, recommendations and comments on the
Comprehensive Greenbelts Plan developed by a private
consultant to County Council.

CARTA - Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority,
and RTMA - Rural Transportation Management Authority)
